Foodies really took over South Beach last night. We were fortunate enough to go to the "Wine Spectator's Best of the Best" event at the newly renovated Fontainbleau Hotel. This event featured 44 of some of today's best chefs from around the country as well as over 70 different wineries, all allowing samples of only their best.

Masaharu Morimoto of Iron Chef + owner of Morimoto in NYC dishes out some of the most incredible Miso Black Bass with Pickled Ginger.

Left: Scott Conant one of NYC most respected chefs and owner of L'impero, Alto and now Scarpetta NYC and Scarpetta Fontainbleau served two dishes - a Braised Beef Short Rib and a Mushroom soup topped with Black Squid Ink Foam.

Below: Scott Conant's new book Bold Italian.

Michael Symon owner of Lolita Lola and newest Iron Chef cooked up Beef Cheek Pierogies with Wild Mushrooms and a Horseradish Puree.

I must say the award of the night for best dish goes to Tyler Florence and his Black Squid Ink Pasta in a Uni Butter topped with Beluga Caviar, which won my vote along with many other guests who were lining up for their second helping.

Francois Payard owner of world renowned Payard Bistro in NYC was putting his own personal finishes on his unreal desserts. His chocolates are always the talk of the festival, but his Hot and Cold Pina Colada Shooters were the star of his table this year.

Hundreds of guests paying $400 a ticket stayed until closing, no signs of a recession here. We finished the night at Rachael Ray's after party at the Victor Hotel, where her Husband's band 'The Cringe' put on a great show.

The surprise of the night was Gloria Estefan performing 2 songs with the band, getting Rachael on stage to sing as well. My girlfriend, Tara Silber, and I had the pleasure of sitting at Rachael's table with Bobby Flay, Michael Symon, Guy Fieri, Katie Lee Joel, Art Smith, Rocco Di Spirito, and Emilio Estefan.

Tonight Seth and Tara are dining compliments of Sushisamba in Miami before they head off to another South Beach Food & Wine Festival party. Check back later to hear about their experience!
